THE SYMBOL

The symbol for psurg.com was designed in 1983 by Dr. Robert H. Stubbs and is a North American trademark.

It represents Aphrodite (Venus), the Greco-Roman symbol of beauty superimposed upon an anthropometric background demonstrating Leonardo da Vinci's divine proportions.

The symbol translates the Plastic Surgeon's constant attempt at trying to combine mathematical precision and artistic skill to the practise of surgery. The recent advances in cranio-facial plastic surgery and cosmetic plastic surgery are good examples.

Plastic surgeons strive for absolute perfection with the realization that true perfection is an abstract that neither the surgeon nor the patient can ever obtain. But, this insatiable desire, produces the results that set plastic surgeons apart from the others who try to emulate them in name or product.
